In 1901 Ellen Everett was a housemaid, 'living in' at The Caldrees, Abbey Street, Ickleton, Cambridgeshire, the residence of Sir Robert George Wyndham Herbert G.C.B. (Dd.1905). Ellen's sister Minnie also worked at Caldrees where she met and married the groom William Hopwood.
